Kelantan Trip 2012

Assalamu'alaikum w.b.t.
Hello. A new post about something that's past quite sometime ago. But still, the pictures are worth sharing!!!

I went to Kelantan, one of the states located on the East Coast of peninsular Malaysia. Purpose? A well planned vacation with my college mates : Aiman, Haziq, Azrul, Imad, Zul, Wafiy and Danial. Since some of them are leaving for universities this coming September, so this trip is kinda get together thingy before they leave. :')

I went there on 17th July and came back home on 19th July. Although it was short, but the memories will stay put in my mind. To summarize, from my observation Kelantan needs a lot more development. Yes, A LOT. The community is quite well established, but if the developments were vast and holistic, I am certain that it'll be one of the most advanced state in Malaysia. As of now, Kelantan is lagging behind a bit far compared to other states apart from the tiny Perlis. Ok, now why do I sound like a politician? Sigh.

Back to tourism, the best part of the vacation was F-O-O-D!!! Kelantan's cuisine was fantastic. Every munch led to mouth-gasm. Frankly, I put on weight as a result of 3-day stay in Kelantan. Two kilograms in three days. Horrible! Ridikulus! (Ahmad, pinjam word)

So, as usual I prefer the pictures do the talking to writing. By the way, before I forget, I would like to express my gratitude to the host for this vacation, Danial Fitri and Tuan Wafiyullah for driving us around and providing us a place to shelter ourselves from the evil heat of the sun and the freezing rain. You guys were awesome!!!

WE Model United Nations 2012 : Beijing, China

Hello! It's quite a while since I last updated my blog cum photo blog or whatever terms that suit. :)

I just came back from the capital of PR China, Beijing  with a few of my college mates. We attended the WE Model United Nations 2012 conference in Grand Epoch City, Beijing. It lasted for four days and I was in the Harvard MUN(HMUN) : European Union (EU) committee, chaired by Mr. Erfan Soliman, a graduate from the Harvard University. I was the delegate of HUNGARY a country known for its beautiful capital city, Budapest (I assumed).

In my committee, we had two topics which were MONETARY POLICY and ENERGY POLICY. However, four days weren't enough for us to cover both. We only managed to pass a resolution concerning the 1st topic, which was very closely related to Economics, and I love it!!!!

Interest rates, bailouts, austerity measures and govt reforms were some of the ideas incorporated in our majestic resolution which passed with a resounding majority. From 5 working papers, to 4 draft resolutions, they converged into 1 comprehensive resolution which hopefully would be able to alleviate the debt crisis plaguing the Eurozone currently.

On the 3rd day, a crisis was introduced into our committee. Spain was accused of hiding the real amount of debt they are facing which is more than what was disclosed to the public. So, we had to give out directives in order to rectify this problem. But, before the directives were to be decided upon, there was a heated debate between the delegates as Spain was asking for the EU to request the European Central Bank (ECB) to give out 100billion Euros of interest-free loan to keep Spain afloat and retain the world's confidence in Spain's economy. It was very interesting indeed.

And lastly, before I wrap up this post with some pictures from Beijing, I would like to share my admiration to  the director of my committee, Mr. Erfan Soliman. He just graduated from Harvard University, majoring in Electrical Engineering and minoring in Economics. It doesn't stop there as he's gonna continue his graduate school at Oxford University in the same course. OMG!!! :)

So, that's all. Thank you for dropping by at my humble bloggie.

Excess + Love = ?

Once in a while, writing something out for me is a relieve. So, in this short post, with deep humility I wish to share a bit of what is going on in my thought for the past day.

Excess. That's the word. I believe that the excess of anything is always threatening. People might argue, but I'll stay put with that. As a rational human, we should be able to draw a line for everything in this world. And please do not practice selective execution (i.e. if the situation is favourable to you, you are okay with it, although you know it's 'illegal').

Looking back at the "excessive" issue, in this post I would like to share it in the context of "being in love". My style is simple and straight to the point. If you love someone, and another person hurts his/her feelings for the good cause, what will be your response? Consult your loved one and talk to him/her properly, trying to mend what is wrong, OR you'll go to the person who hurt his/her feelings and 'lecture' that person? The choice is yours. For someone who is over-protective, the 2nd option is highly likely to be the choice. Is that the best choice in this case? I don't think so. Sometimes, we are too ignorant of ourselves. We are trying hard to please other people and the society up to the point that we don't give ourselves the chance to be who we are, to think back where do we come from. And this situation might lead to us not knowing exactly where is our boundary in life.

Talking from experience, too much love is never good, except for love to the No Ending and His sweetheart.
Don't get blinded by love as it would be detrimental not only to you but to those surrounding you. At times, take a look at the bigger picture of life and avoid being too focused to the one you love. :)
A reminder for me and those who love to be reminded.

Assalamu'alaikum.

Put your head down, look forward

Hi. Yesterday's physics class makes me ponder whether I'm destined to be here in Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar or not. I couldn't really digest what was taught by Mr. Ang.

Angular velocity? Angular displacement? Omega = speed? Phewww... To make things even worst, in today's Economics class. I'm lost! Totally lost! A2 Economics starts showing its 'true colour'.

My body was there but my mind and my soul went away into another dimension I guess. Whatever it is, this is life people! Feeling down is part and parcel of it.
It's time to get back the focus I had before this. United Kingdom, Cambridge, A* and successful future are waiting for you.

You lost your focus mean you lost your future. As simple as that. So, buckle up and work your ass off!!!!!!!! :)

When you suddenly feel you can't do it, when you think that you are alone, wait.wait.wait. "La Tahzan, innallahama'ana". Don't be sad, because Allah is with you.

 FOCUS!

As time goes, people come and go

Hey. Assalamu'alaikum. What's up?
I'm not in a very good mood for this post because I'll share about the Upper Sixers, who are going to leave my friends and I here in KTJ soon enough. Some of them have already left without even having the chance to say goodbye. :'(
Even though we only get to know each other for a very short year, but the bonding is awesome. Here in KTJ, the 6th Formers is like one unit, one big family. How strong the relationship is, people come and go and unfortunately this time around, it's their time to go and continue their journeys of life. Quest for whatever they want to achieve in their life. Hopefully, all will be well for them and us as well. (^_^)v InsyaAllah, God's willing.
